About the Teacher
I received my B.A. in English from Freed-Hardeman University in 2012. In 2018 I received my M.B.A. from Delta State University.
This is my first year teaching! Before becoming an EL Teacher for DCS, I worked at Northwest Mississippi Community College as a Transcript Specialist in the Office of Admissions and Records (3 years) and as a Career Navigator in the WIN Job Center (2 years). Before working at NWCC, I worked as a Claims Analyst for State Farm Insurance.
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved the idea of becoming a teacher. I would line my stuffed animals up and teach them, and sometimes even make my little brother sit down and let me teach him. Even though I loved the idea of teaching, it scared me to death. This year, however, I finally took the leap of faith and refuse to look back. Teaching has filled a passion-shaped hole in my heart that has been missing since I left college and joined the workforce.
